Ammonium Acetate is an inorganic salt with the formula CH3COONH4. It consists of the ammonium cation (NH4+) and the acetate anion (CH3COO-). In its pure form, it appears as a white, hygroscopic crystalline solid. The compound is highly soluble in water and has no distinct odor.

Ammonium Acetate (CH₃COONH₄) is the ammonium salt of acetic acid. It is a white, hygroscopic crystalline solid, highly soluble in water, and widely used as a buffering and complexing agent.
It is mainly used in electroplating because its buffering and complexing effects support uniform metal deposition and stable pH conditions. In chemical synthesis, it is applied to stabilize catalysts and maintain controlled reaction environments, which helps to improve yields.
They are produced at our manufacturing facilities in Germany.
In pure form, Ammonium Acetate has no distinct odor. At elevated temperatures, decomposition can release ammonia or acetic acid smell.
Solid forms such as powders or crystals are easier to store, transport with lower weight, and offer flexibility for preparing solutions of different concentrations. Solutions, on the other hand, are ready-to-use, allow precise dosing, reduce dust exposure, and can be far more practical in continuous or large-scale processes depending on the customer’s setup.
