As a trusted German manufacturer, we ensure consistent product quality, reliable supply, and optimized handling for a wide range of technical applications.
Zinc Acetate is an inorganic salt with formula Zn(CH₃COO)₂, frequently encountered as the dihydrate Zn(CH₃COO)₂·2H₂O. It consists of Zinc cations (Zn²⁺) and Acetate anions (CH₃COO⁻). In its pure (anhydrous) form it appears as a white crystalline solid; the hydrated form is also colorless to white. The compound is essentially odorless, though it can exhibit a faint vinegar/acetic odor due to residual acetic acid or hydrolysis. Zinc Acetate is soluble in water and also soluble in alcohol. In aqueous solution it dissociates into Zn²⁺ and Acetate ions.

Interested in Zinc Acetates for your application? Looking for a specific grade or regulatory support?
Our technical experts are here to help with:
Zinc Acetates are inorganic salts of acetic acid and zinc, most commonly encountered as the dihydrate Zn(CH₃COO)₂·2H₂O. They are white crystalline solids, odorless to faintly vinegar-like due to residual acetic acid, and are readily soluble in water and alcohol. In solution, they dissociate into Zn²⁺ and acetate ions, making them an efficient and versatile zinc source.
They are produced at our manufacturing facilities in Germany.
They are generally odorless, though moist material or solutions may release a faint vinegar-like smell from traces of acetic acid.
Some grades can be suitable for food-related uses. Our experts assess conformity with applicable regulations for specific applications, including food-contact requirements.
