Magnesium Acetate is an inorganic salt with the formula Mg(CH3COO)2, commonly encountered as the tetrahydrate Mg(CH3COO)2·4H2O. It consists of magnesium cations (Mg2+) and acetate anions (CH3COO-). In its pure form, it appears as a white crystalline solid that is strongly hygroscopic. The compound is readily soluble in water and is essentially odorless in its dry state, though when moist it may release a faint acetic acid smell.

Magnesium Acetate is the magnesium salt of acetic acid (Mg(CH₃COO)₂). It is often encountered as the tetrahydrate Mg(CH₃COO)₂·4H₂O. It appears as a white crystalline solid, is strongly hygroscopic, and dissolves readily in water.
It is produced at our manufacturing facilities in Germany.
In its dry form it is essentially odorless. When moist, it may release a faint acetic acid smell.
